About Victory Cruise

Belonging to the renowned Bai Tho Junk fleet, Victory Cruise is among the best budget options in Halong Bay. Launched in 2007 and renovated in late 2019, Victory Cruise features the classic design of Vietnamese ancient junks yet boasts modern facilities for high safety and comfort. The cruise provides featured 1 and 2-night programs and a variety of Vietnamese and international cuisine.

Pros

+ The vessel is well maintained and the interior is clean.

+ Food is nicely presented and plenty of options.

+ Service by staff is a plus. Staff is attentive and friendly.

Cons

- Excursions for a 1-night trip are very crowded and it takes quite a long for the whole group to get to the site. Day 2 of a 2-night trip is better.

Bottom Line

Victory Cruise respects traditional values but wisely adds modern facilities and services to create a comfortable and memorable cruising experience.

Itinerary & activities

The adventure with Victory leads travelers to the best landmarks of Halong. It is Luon Cave with kayaking or rowing boat trips through the cave. It is Titop island with a sandy beach and a spectacular panoramic view on top of the mountain. It is Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave - the largest cave with millions-year-old stalactites and stalagmites.

Not only visiting signatures of the heritage bay, the 2-night itinerary also brings travelers to the pristine parts with the fewest boats and tourists such as Trong (Drum) Cave, Trinh Nu (Virgin) Beach, and a local pearl farm. Choosing an active vacation with a bunch of activities or simply enjoying the scenery from the boat and lazing on the sunbed is totally your choice.

Cruise quality

Constructed with Aromas wood, the ship completely brings a nostalgic vibe to the cruising experience. There is all the safety equipment needed in every cabin and in the public area along with a well-trained crew team to ensure a safe and care-free vacation. The cruise has recently been upgraded, not only proving a new appearance but also enhancing the journey quality of visitors.

Cabin quality

Victory Cruise owns 21 Deluxe cabins on the main deck and upper deck. With an area of 16 - 18 sqm, cabins are varied in type to accommodate from 1 to 4 passengers. Apart from a full-length glass window to admire the bay scenery, amenities are well equipped in each cabin namely air-conditioning, comfy bedding with soft pillows, ensuite bathroom with towels, rain shower, hairdryer, and other toiletries.

Service & facilities

Visitors can enjoy modern facilities and services at a very affordable price when choosing Victory Cruise. A warm-hearted team welcomes and supports you 24 hours per day. Guests can savor the culinary quintessence of Vietnam and other nations in a cozy restaurant overlooking the bay and sip fine wine from the bar. A pre-dinner cocktail party is ideal for relaxing during sunset. At night, ordering some drinks and chilling with friends and families on the top deck or trying your luck with squid fishing at the back of the ship would definitely be a fun experience to memorize.

Food & Drink

It is such a nice dining experience when tasting local and international dishes in an intimate space while the ship crosses majestic limestone islands out of the windows. Bar is open with a wide range of drinks from wine, spirits, cocktails, mocktails to fresh juice or soft drinks.

Highly recommended

A fun-filled experience! We had 2 nights on Halong Bay. Although there were too many tourists and boats around, the view of the bay was one of a kind. The day tour on the second day was much less crowded with kayaking and swimming activities. The crew members were all kind and polite. The manager was attentive and willing to help us at any time. Food was beautifully presented and of good quality. Surely recommend Victory Cruise!

The staff really made our stay. They are friendly and courteous. The rooms were compact yet clean. The food was amazing but the cocktail was just average. We visited a giant cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. The Titop beach was super crowded and the steps to the top of the mountain were sometimes uneven and steep. We tried kayaking the first time and the staff was helpful to show us. Thank you.

The cabin was nice with a large glass window. We had a neat and well-equipped room with an air-con, a private bathroom with bathrobes, towels, and toiletries,... Everything was alright and enjoyable except for the pollution issue. There was quite a lot of litter on the bay. We hope this will be handled soon.

The boat is old-style. There are not many modern facilities but your basic needs of food, beverage, accommodation, entertainment, and relaxation were fulfilled. Our cabin was small with a wooden floor and furniture. The bathroom has enough amenities and a standing shower. Food was good. There were only 2 bottles of water included and no more. Drinks were expensive.

Pros: Friendly staff, tasty food, incredible landscape. Cons: Tight schedule with many continuous activities, crowded excursions. Overall Halong Bay was a well worth visit and we rate this trip 7.5 out of 10.
