Cai Vieng port
Location: 356 Phu Long, Cat Hai District, Hai Phong city
Cai Vieng port is a primary gateway to the island if you depart from Hanoi or Hai Phong city. From Hanoi, you can drive your private vehicle, take a taxi or a tourist bus following Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, passing Dinh Vu - Cat Hai bridge to Got pier. From there, you take a ferry or high-speed boat to Cai Vieng port. The ferry trip takes around 30 minutes to arrive. Upon arrival at Cai Vieng port, you can get on a bus or electric car to the town center.
Note: The port is usually busy from 8:00 to 10:00 and 13:00 to 16:00 during the day, especially on weekends.

If you're in Hai Phong city and opt for the hydrofoil service provided by Cat Ba Island Resort & Spa, a shuttle bus will pick you up to Got Pier. The bus ticket price is only 30,000 VND while the ticket price for the hydrofoil ride is 120,000 VND/person/one-way journey.

Ben Beo pier
Location: Cai Beo, Cat Ba town, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city
The pier is located about 2km from the town center and 15km from Cat Ba national park. It features the most famous tourist boat pier on the island. It mainly serves cruise trips to Lan Ha Bay, Viet Hai village, Van Boi fishing village, and Monkey island.
To reach the site, you can rent a motorbike, car or walk in 20 minutes.
Tips to travel from Ben Beo port
- If your group has 10 - 15 members, it is advisable to book a boat in advance and have the pick-up service at your hotel. There are a variety kinds of boats to choose from including daytime and overnight cruises with different quality.
- The port opens early at 6:30 am, you should arrive early and get detailed information about your chosen cruises, schedules, and rent.
- Avoid minor crimes, especially during the peak tourist season.
- You should park your vehicles at Cat Ba town and then take a taxi or electric car to the place.
Gia Luan ferry terminal
Location: Cat Ba cross-island trail, Gia Luan, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city
Situated at the end of the cross-island trail, approximately 25 km away from Cat Ba town, the terminal serves as a popular departure point for tourists coming from Halong Bay to reach the island. The Tuan Chau - Gia Luan ferry ride takes you around 50 minutes while a speed boat completes the transfer within 30 minutes.
